Spartacus Season 1 Netflix Review

A Thracian man is condemned to a brutal death in the arena, only to outlast his executioners and be reborn as the enslaved gladiator Spartacus.

I was scrolling on my Netflix account and saw this show being featured. The show is called Spartacus which I’m not too familiar with the show. I know the story of Spartacus from Roman tales, but never seen the show. I decided to give it a chance and check out the show.

Well after two days of constant watching, I was able to binge the first season of the show. I was hooked real hard with the show as I enjoy stories from Roman times and of course the gore. Spartacus show relives the Roman times where a Thracian man who was helping Rome against their enemy turns his sword against them. After they capture him and his wife, he was given an execution style match in the arena. He defeated his enemies and was shortly bought to become a Gladiator. I will stop there as the story goes very well with the show. This is well written and features a lot of Roman stories throughout each episode.

The gore from the fight scenes are top notch! They remind me of the movie 300 but more fixated on those emotional moments. The color acts of blood on the screen reminds me of how brutal the Roman times can be. Other than that, this is a pretty good show! Season 1 featured a story filled series where you want to see more of Spartacus and how his master endured him while climbing the ranks of the arena.

Pro:

  • Story
    • Fantastic Roman story that goes in-depth on the person
  • Gore
    • The fight scenes are awesome and with the added gore and blood, you felt like you were there in that arena.

Con:

None

Rating: 9 out of 10
