April 15, 2026 (Los Angeles, CA) – Today, dance music powerhouse John Summit unveils his highly anticipated album CTRL ESCAPE via Experts Only / Darkroom Records. The 13-track body of work captures not only Summit’s origin story but also reflects the limitless potential of artistic freedom. Summit says of CTRL ESCAPE: “The album is about escaping the control of corporate life,” Summit explains. “But also about not being pigeonholed with a specific sound. The whole point of being an artist is being able to express myself in any single way. The overall concept of the album relates to not just breaking out of, literally, my corporate job, but also as an artist, being able to break free and do whatever the hell I want.”
CTRL ESCAPE pushes boundaries by fusing a wide array of genres, from heavy-hitting tech-house flair to dubstep, drum & bass, and other broader influences. Taken as a whole, the body of work acts as a portrait of John Summit’s life right now – the relentless touring, the stadium gigs that butt right up against the intimate shows he keeps doing in order to maintain a connection to his day one fans, but it’s also designed to be played out in rooms of all sizes. Each track is its own world, its own journey through the past and present of electronic music.
The album’s focus track, “SHADES OF BLUE,” sees Devault and Julia Church join forces for a euphoric, crowd-ready anthem. Summit’s signature sound shines through, blending melodic tech house with a pulsating, high-energy bassline fans know and love.
In the lead-up to the album, Summit delivered a series of standout pop-ups across Los Angeles, New York City, and Colorado – selling out Reframe Studios in LA, partnering with Spotify and LinkedIn at NYC’s HALO, and headlining a sold-out open-to-close set at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He capped the run this past weekend with a takeover of the Do LaB stage at Coachella.

Two weeks ago, Summit released “CHICA 305” with Latin superstar, Feid. The track is playful and flirtatious, capturing the electric feeling of locking eyes with someone across a crowded dance floor. LISTEN HERE. Before this, Summit released “ALL THE TIME” with The Chainsmokers, a full throttle single that opens with a propulsive house beat then accelerates into a heavy drum & bass track. Maintaining the steady cadence, Summit also released the emo-tinged “WITH ME,” featuring alt-pop provocateur Julia Wolf (LISTEN & WATCH HERE) and “SHADOWS” (LISTEN HERE), a moody, intimate single with powerhouse vocalist LAVINIA that blends tech-house grooves with layered synths to evoke desire and mystery.
John Summit will make his Ibiza residency debut this summer, headlining nine Mondays at [UNVRS] Ibiza, before returning stateside for a hometown headline performance at Lollapalooza. He delivered a historic closing set on Ultra Miami’s mainstage. Coming up, he will headline Ultra South Africa and Tomorrowland, and host an Experts Only U.K. show at Tofte Manor with Labyrinth Events. In September, Summit returns to New York City for the highly anticipated return of the Experts Only Festival following its sold-out 2025 debut.
Last September, Summit hosted New York City’s largest dance music festival, Experts Only, drawing over 50,000 fans and featuring a massive lineup including Kaskade B2B Cassian, Green Velvet B2B Layton Giordani, LP Giobbi, and AYYBO. He additionally lit up major stages around the world with explosive performances at Lollapalooza Paris and Germany, Ultra Europe, and two headlining sets at Austin City Limits Festival. He also delivered his biggest U.K. show to date at London’s O2 Arena before closing out the year with a sold-out performance at Folsom Field (University of Colorado in Boulder’s stadium).
