Interview with SANDS OF ETERNITY

Today, we sat down with Dice from Sands of Eternity to talk start in music, type of music listened to while growing up and much more! Be sure to check out Dice’s band Sands of Eternity below after the interview!

How did you get your start in music?

Dice: All members of the band, as far as I know, they play music for almost all of their lives, it’s a second nature to them. As far as I am concerned, I was introduced into the hard sound when I was a little kid in the 80s, when I first listened to Survivor’s “Burning Heart” during a national TV show, when I was astonished by the vocals of Jimi Jameson. Later on we started forming local bands with friends from school, I guess it was around ’95. The interesting part is that we used to write our own songs!

What type of music did you listen to while growing up?

Dice: From time to time, I remember sticking to one specific record or band for a long period of time, even months. Some of these bands were Queensryche, Fates Warning, Dream Theater, Rainbow, Manowar, Kamelot amongst many others.

What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?

Dice: We had a lot of fun while recording our latest album, we reached the point of creating our own slang language, for example when my voice was having a muddy resonance we called it “peanut butter” voice, like as if I was eating peanut butter and trying to sing at the same time… (laughs)

Another pretty funny moment that I recall is, when I was recording some vocal harmonies, we were trying to make them more interesting by adding various intervals over the chord progressions such as 4th, or 7th, instead of the usual 3rd or 5th and at some point we were so focused and absorbed by the process that we started making jokes and laughing about chords, scales etc. Then we realized “guys we are laughing about chords and scales, what’s wrong with us??” and started laughing even harder! (laughs)

What is your latest song or album you can share with us?

Dice: We have just released the album “Beyond the Realms of Time”, by Symmetric Records and you can find it exclusively on our bandcamp page :

Where can our fans find you on social media for any music updates?
