Home2 Suites by Hilton Austin East Side 5th Street is a hotel located at 2033 E. 5th Street in Austin, TX. The hotel is near downtown Austin which features complimentary breakfast, extended-stays, free wi-fi, and proximity to downtown Austin.
My team and I were able to do a collaboration with Home2 Suites by Hilton during our visit to the festival SXSW 2026. We were able to stay for 2 nights at the hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly smiles at the front desk. The gentlemen in the front were able to get us checked in quickly for our rooms. Once done with the check-in, my team and I headed downtown Austin for SXSW. The hotel is approximately 1.6 miles east of downtown Austin and has a few ways to get there quickly. We could ride share, walk, or take the Cap Metro train. I had never been on a train before and we took the train. The train ride to and from downtown was an experience of its own in Austin.
Once back to the hotel, we were able to look at our room. The room had a comfortable feeling of being at home. I felt calm and at ease just walking around my room while relaxing from the day. Then, the best part of the room hit me with such comfort that I couldn’t get up for an hour. The bed! My god, the bed was so comfortable! I felt my whole body heal itself from the day of walking and carrying camera equipment just by laying on the bed. After laying down on my bed, I was able to go out in the area to enjoy dinner and an atmosphere with music, friendly people, and good tunes.
The next morning, we were able to venture into the breakfast area to eat. I was surprised on how many choices you had for breakfast. You could have scrambled eggs or an omelet or 4 different shapes of waffles. Yes, you heard me, they had 4 different waffle shape machines to make waffles. We got our portions of breakfast and tried a little of everything there including oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, and sausage.
Then, we utilized ride share to downtown to enjoy SXSW once more. Finally, we got back, our room was tidy very well. The beds were made in perfect fashion with the whole room being cleaned to perfection. After another time healing our bodies on that bed of perfection, we made our way once more to the popular area near the hotel. We met so many people including a few guests of our hotel as well. We all had positive talking experiences of our rooms, the food, and the hotel itself.
After our two nights at the hotel, we checked out and headed home. I’m already missing my bed at Home2 Suites Austin East Side 5th Street and can’t wait to make another stay at the hotel.

- Beds
- The beds were so comfortable! Once I laid down, it was so hard to get up for the rest of my day. I was having some small back problems during the day, but once I laid down, I felt the pain go away.
- Breakfast
- The breakfast they had at the hotel was very delicious! One day, we were able to have sausage patties which were superb. The next day was my favorite with crispy bacon. They also had different types of eggs including scrambled, omelets, and omelets with cheese.
- Easiness to Downtown Austin
- Hotel2 Suites by Hilton East Side 5th Street is a little over one mile and half from downtown. You can take an uber, the Cap Metro Train Ride, or walk to your downtown destination.
