GRUPO FRIME MAKES HISTORIC MARIACHI DEBUT WITH “CABRÓN Y MEDIO” POWERFUL ANTHEM OF LOVE AND LOSS

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 2, 2026) – Powerhouse Música Mexicana group Grupo Firme returns with an emotionally charged new release titled “Cabrón y Medio,” marking their first-ever foray into mariachi, a bold and defining moment that underscores their ability to command and redefine any genre they touch. The track explores the complexities of love, delving into themes of heartbreak, longing, and the lasting weight of lost love. “Cabrón y Medio” and the official music video are now available on all streaming platforms.

“Cabrón y Medio” captures the late-night solitude of someone unable to move on, spending sleepless hours remembering a past relationship. The song paints a picture of emotional vulnerability, where even a few drinks blur the line between memory and reality, making it feel as though that special person is still close by. The lyrics reflect a deeply personal struggle, where one person has moved on, while the other remains trapped in the memory of a love that once felt irreplaceable.

The music video for “Cabrón y Medio” vividly brings the song’s raw emotion to life, set against the backdrop of a traditional ranch. Frontman Eduin Caz appears in an iconic charro ensemble, one of the most emblematic symbols of Mexican culture, paying tribute to his roots while embodying a deep sense of national pride and identity. Surrounded by mariachi musicians, the visual unfolds through dramatic lightning flashes, telling the story of a man whose life spirals under negative influences. Intercut with haunting flashbacks of a once-happy family, the video captures the devastating contrast between love lost and memories that refuse to fade.

Further honoring the tradition of mariachi, frontman Eduin Caz dons an authentic charro suit custom-made by the same renowned designer who has crafted iconic looks for legends such as Vicente Fernández and Pepe Aguilar, among others. The bespoke ensemble not only elevates the visual narrative of the video but also serves as a powerful tribute to the rich heritage of the genre, underscoring Grupo Firme’s commitment to honoring its roots while pushing música mexicana into new territory.

Currently on their record-breaking La Última Peda Tour across South and Central America, Grupo Firme is performing to sold-out venues and connecting with fans across the region. Hitting cities throughout Mexico, as well as Honduras, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica, the group continues to build on their growing international presence. The tour’s momentum coincides with the release of Evolución, the group’s first studio album in three years. The 14-track project features collaborations with Gloria Trevi, Carolina Ross and Joss Favela and includes hit singles like “El Beneficio De La Duda,” which has surpassed 367.9 million Spotify streams and “Alégale Al Umpire,” which is currently at 93.3 million Spotify streams. The group recently announced their upcoming performance at El Palenque de La Feria de Metepec on May 15 and frontman Eduin Caz was just featured on Galore for his impact on both music and fashion following his Paris Fashion Week debut earlier this year. With over 21.4 million monthly Spotify listeners, Grupo Firme remains one of the most beloved Mexican acts today, continuously redefining the genre and bringing música Mexicana to a global audience.
