WWE Unreal Opens The Curtain For Fans To See Inside

From Monday Night RAW to WrestleMania, this series goes backstage with WWE Superstars and staff as they bring the company’s biggest spectacles to life.

I was able to lay down in my bed with a fever that I’m still fighting to watch the new documentary on Netflix titled WWE Unreal. The first 5 episodes of the documentary are out now with the Road to Wrestlemania as the focus. They start off in each episode introducing wrestlers, government name and all, to what they are doing currently in WWE. I watch as wrestlers as Rhea Ripley, Cody Rhodes, and many more interact backstage with other wrestlers and the crew. The process it takes to be a superstar and balance a lifestyle at home is tough for Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley. I enjoyed watching that as I have met Rhea Ripley in Corpus Christi before and saw how people gave her time to enjoy the area with friends and family. I wished fans would see this more and give wrestlers more opportunities for breaks in public so they can enjoy the small things in life.

Triple H is THEE leader of WWE! Yes, I said that! Not because I’m a Triple H Fan, but from a business standpoint, he is calm. He stops to make decisions when the situation calls for it. As a businessman myself, I admire how he navigates everything from getting the script to Raw to deciding on who is the next Superstar to trust with their title. He does it in a calm and smart demeanor that echoes strength and prosperity for WWE.

This is John Cena’s final year in wrestling as he goes more into Hollywood. You watch as how he treats his legacy and moves forward on what he wants to do next. You see the delicate process with writers, producers, and more to make sure his legacy is intact and treated with respect. I like that!

I wished they focus more on the writing and producing staff as very little watch talked about with them. I felt see and learning more from them on that standpoint would be beneficial for fans that are watching on Netflix!

Other than that, this is a good watch! Sick in bed or not!

Pro:

  • Wrestlers
    • Being able to see how the wrestlers interact backstage with their storylines and how they endure the pressures of being a WWE Superstar is an intense view.
  • Triple H
    • Watching Triple H navigate the process to be THEEE leader of WWE is astonishing! I feel for him and watch as he has a calm hand to direct chaos into a highway of prosperity.
  • John Cena
    • Watching John Cena in his final year as a WWE star is heartbreaking but glad to have this opportunity to experience and watch how he gets things done.

Con:

  • Not Enough on Writers
    • I would love to see more of the writers and how they pitched their ideas. I want to see what ideas made it and didn’t make it on the drawing board. This would give more in-depth look at what type of stories we could have had on WWE programming.
  • Not Enough on Producers
    • The producers had a lot of great insight on what is directed in the ring and outside. They had a way to mold the experience for the viewers and we only got glimpses of that. I wished they focused more on Michael Hayes due to the fact when he talked, he talked. You listened because he brought that way of communication out for viewers.

Rating: 8 out of 10
