An exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the career of WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, spotlighting his incredible ability and personal struggles.
I was able to sit down this morning and watch the new documentary of one of my heroes named Shawn Michaels. The documentary is called The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels and it is out now on Peacock. I’m not going to spoil much of this review as this documentary has a ton of footage of HBK and WWE in the past and present.
One of the featured stories of HBK was how he started out in wrestling and end up in a Tag Team. We all knew The Rockers growing up and seeing those behind the scene videos of HBK and Marty Jannetty was pretty cool. I still remember renting old WWE tapes at the local movie store and watching The Rockers wrestle in those. More stories included from the Montreal Screwjob that happened between him and Bret Hart. I remember watching that and I was like WOW!
They discussed a fair amount in the documentary about Shawn’s substance abuse problems. I would have thought they would have sugar coated it, but Shawn talked very freely about it. He discussed at length of what we was taking and why he did that. Then, eventually, he met our Lord and was saved. He talked about that and reading the Bible as his source of inspiration.
A pretty good documentary and enjoyed it a lot!
