The new season of The Chosen is out and its clearly labeled the The Last Supper to mark the commemorative season. This season, each episode starts off with Jesus and His disciples at the table during their Last Supper. You are given a visual of how Jesus and his disciples spent their time with each other before Jesus is betrayed. While that is going on, the Pharisees are plotting to arrest Jesus before Passover begins. One of the Pharisees builds a connection with Judas and is instrumental on getting the Romans to help with the arrest.
This season is very sad as you watch in each episode as how each disciple is saved by Jesus and how he builds his group. Each member is shown through lenses of why they are with Jesus. You encounter is pain throughout each episode as He already knows what must happen yet still encounters the pain. The pain that Jesus felt is overwhelming at times as you watch Him beg His Father to not let this happen. Jesus also watches Judas start to betray him more and more. Then during on the episodes, He looks at Judas and tells him to go do what he has to go do. He is no longer have God in his heart and Judas leaves real quickly at that situation.
I never knew much about Passover or the traditions surrounding the holidays. Throughout each episode, we watch many people in the past seasons take the journey to Jerusalem. They encounter Jesus with joy and praises and while one of them, is there to poison the minds of others.
Very good season here and gave in depth look at how Jesus went into Jerusalem! Enjoyed this season!
