I was able to watch Season 2 of Spartacus on Netflix from home. I was very excited to see what happens next to Spartacus in this new season. Well…that didn’t happen! This season showed before Spartacus came into the hands of Batiatus and explored more of his upbringing. I was very VERY DISAPPOINTED they went this route. The story was good and could have been used in other ways, but for a whole season???!!
I tried very hard to come up with the words for this review, but I was disappointed. I like the character of Batiatus and the people involved on the Roman side. I just wished the writers, producers, showrunners, etc would have went in a route that could feature both. Anyways, we learn about Batiatus father and his disapproval. Then, we learn how Batiatus gets Crixus to join the gladiators. Then, we learn about Oenomaus wife and the situations that transpired with her. I enjoyed the story in this season but wished it could have been saved for another show.
