Ryan Castro and Grupo Frontera Join Forces on New Single “Apodo”

Miami, FL (August 14, 2025) – Global urban hitmaker Ryan Castro, one of Latin music’s most in-demand artists, continues to build his unstoppable momentum with the release of “Apodo”, a bold norteño reggae in collaboration with the Latin GRAMMY winning, música Mexicana pioneers, Grupo Frontera. The track expands on the Caribbean-inspired sound of his critically acclaimed album SENDÉ, shaped by the rhythms and influences Castro absorbed during his formative years living in Curaçao.

Filmed in McAllen, Texas, the music video to “Apodo” brings to life the rich blend of influences that define the song, fusing the warmth of norteño instrumentation with laid-back reggae. Set against a coastal backdrop, the visual captures an intimate, organic energy that mirrors the track’s seamless cultural fusion.

“Apodo” arrives on the heels of Ryan announcing the pre-sale of the U.S. leg of his SENDÉ World Tour, which officially kicked off on August 7th. The U.S. run will hit arenas in Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Miami, and New York, while the world tour also includes his only show in Colombia this year at Bogotá’s Coliseo Medplus—which sold out in under eight hours, with over 19,000 tickets.

Castro’s latest album Sendé was recently named one of the 25 Best Latin Albums of 2025 by Billboard, and featured in Rolling Stone’s mid-year roundup as One of the Best Albums of the Year. He also currently has five tracks charting on Spotify Colombia: “Ba Ba Bad Remix,” “Sanka,” “Dónde”“Bombastik,” and “Ojalá.”
