Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns 2 RPG Review

The capital city of Yndaros descending into chaos amid preparations for a royal wedding; deadly conspiracies that threaten to plunge the Davokar region into all-out war; the most perilous and decisive wilderness expedition in Ambrian history – experience all this and more as the epic quest for the legendary Throne of Thorns continues! This book presents the third and fourth episodes of the acclaimed adventure chronicle The Throne of Thorns, adapted for play with the 5e ruleset and the Ruins of Symbaroum setting books. Expect the stakes to be even higher, the competition fiercer, and the darkness abysmal, for the forest of Davokar is about to awaken.

I was able to get a review sample of Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns 2 to review on the website. I was able to do a first look video here to show what you would get when you order the book. My friends and I looked over the book and realized this is going to be an awesome campaign. I’m not going to spoil much but will summarize what we encounter. First, your PCs must be at Level 10 before playing the campaign but after playing, you will go to Level 14 easily. This edition has over 60 Stat Blocks that will give your character a refined look. This also makes combat much more fun as you can be very creative on your attacks.

There are two huge stories titled The Darkest Star and Mother of Darkness that are very adventurous. Both stories are massive and give you a Hollywood type sense of what is going on. You will get a sense of familiarity as it does has aspects of your favorite HBO show but gives you more options than what they offered. The options are that you are in control and how you handle the political situations throughout each game that will either lead to war or much more.

I don’t want to say more because this is something you need to explore with you friends. You need to be part of the story with your characters to discover the world within. Get this now!
