(December 1 2025) With its cutting-edge blend of horror and humor George A. Romero and Stephen King’s 1982 film Creepshow™ inspired generations of fans and launched a beloved horror franchise. Prolific special effects artist, director, and producer Greg Nicotero (Walking Dead) introduced a new generation of fans to Creepshow™ with the acclaimed 2018 Shudder TV Series. And next year, in May 2026, Bram Stoker Award-winning editor and writer James Aquilone’s Monstrous Books is launching Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror, the first-ever short story collection inspired by the acclaimed series.
This terrifying volume, licensed by Evoke Entertainment, brings together award-winning horror and speculative fiction authors to deliver an unforgettable reading experience that brings the series’ chilling tales to life in prose for the very first time.
Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror features original stories by James Aquilone (Kolchak: The Night Stalker), David Avallone (Elvira: Mistress of the Dark), Simon Bestwick (Best Horror of the Year), Nancy A. Collins (Swamp Thing, Blade Runner, Sonja Blue), Dennis Crosby (Weird Tales), Keith R.A. Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror is a macabre celebration of the series’ legacy — twisting morality tales of terror, justice, and cosmic retribution, told through the Creep’s ghoulish grin.
Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror will feature a cover from Russ Braun (The Boys, Kolchak: The Night Stalker), and each story will be accompanied by a full-page piece of art featuring The Creep from EV Cantada.
The Creepshow™ anthology deal was brokered by Striker Entertainment.
“Each story is a macabre celebration of Creepshow™’s legacy,” said James Aquilone. “We’ve assembled a can’t-miss anthology, with morality tales of terror, justice, and cosmic retribution, all told with the Creep’s ghoulish grin.”
Monstrous has raised more than $500,000 on Kickstarter over the last four years with such projects as Kolchak Meets the Classic Monsters, The Omega Eleven, and Classic Monsters Unleashed. Monstrous and its founder, James Aquilone, have won multiple accolades, including the Bram Stoker Award, Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award, and the Scribe Award from the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers.
Creepshow: 13 Tales of Terror will be available as an ebook, paperback, and hardcover on May 19, 2026, wherever books are sold, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and local independent retailers. The Creep invites you to turn the page… if you dare.
