“Medianoche”: MONTUFAR’s New Single Will Make You Miss Someone

SAN ANTONIO, TX — October 31, 2025 — San Antonio sibling duo Montufar invites listeners into a dreamy moment with “Medianoche,” now available on all streaming platforms (listen here). The release follows their recent recognition by the City of San Antonio and Creative SA as part of the Local Music Spotlight series, honoring the city’s most promising talent.

Written, produced, and recorded entirely by Victor and Mariafernanda Montufar in their San Antonio home studio, “Medianoche” captures the dizzying feeling of surrendering yourself completely to someone who feels timeless, someone whose presence follows you through lifetimes. The track blends the dreamy haze of The Marías with the cinematic alt-rock pulse of The Smashing Pumpkins, resulting in an emotional and expansive soundscape.

The single features Gabi King (The 1975, Declan McKenna) on drums and Jeronimo Quintana on bass, with mixing by Eduardo De La Paz (Jesse & Joy, Porter, Siddhartha) and mastering by Kevin Peterson (Esteman, Daniela Spalla, Leonel García, Reyno).

Formed in 2019, Montufar began by crafting bedroom demos that fused 80s-inspired synth textures with modern Latin indie pop. Their growing body of work has led to collaborations with Evan Smith (Bleachers), John Waugh (The 1975), Pipe Ceballos (Zoé/León Larregui), and Rodrigo Guardiola (Zoé).

Their single “Escaparnos” earned a Spotify Fresh Finds Latin cover feature in 2022, setting the stage for performances across Mexico City and opening for Jesse & Joy in San Antonio.

Following the success of their latest single, “Suéter,” produced by Evan Smith, “Medianoche” marks a new chapter in Montufar’s sonic evolution, more intimate, more cinematic, and deeply human.

The duo will perform in Austin, TX, on December 10, opening for acclaimed Mexican band ODISSEO.
