Today, we sat down with Drummer KIKEY KUMAR of Noisemakers’ Guild to discuss his inspiration to write music, heroes, and much more! Be sure to check out the music of Noisemakers’ Guild on Spotify below after the interview.
Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?
surroundings?
I would say our main inspiration is from the music we love and regularly listen to. Our surroundings not so much, only maybe when we get to travel, like on our recent UK tour. Experiences like that and the reception we received all over the country made us come a very long way as a musical unit. Jez (guitar) and Lee (vocals) are always encouraging me to branch out and get to see more new places, so I can’t wait to do more in 2026.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
All the music I listened to was from the Guitar Hero or Rock Band games, so all the classics of rock, grunge and heavy metal, really. That helped shape my tastes, and got me into harder and heavier music of all genres!
Is there someone you looked up to as a hero?
Just bands like Guns N’ Roses and Metallica, who were quite inspiring to me personally.
If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?
Probably not too much! (Laughs)
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?
The best advice I can give is have fun and enjoy what you’re doing. I treat myself more as someone who wants to master the craft of drumming than an actual musician. As long as you have your passion for music or anything creative, then keep doing what you’re doing and make sure you’re enjoying it!
