Interview with Mark Trueack

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

That’s a good question, fortunately I have travelled the world extensively and have bee inspired by many cultures, my writing comes from true life    experiences. Living in Thailand has opened my eyes so much more I visit many temples each with its own surroundings and architecture. My new project Breaking Down the Barriers certainly will reveal my experiences in a format that everyone will engage in

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

I listened to very complex music that was not mainstream, The early Syd Barrett Floyd was certainly not well known, I was listening to a lot John Martyn, early Genesis, and Yes.

Is there someone you looked up to as a hero?

John Martyn

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?

I am a Master Builder by Trade ended with EMI\Virgin in sales and Marketing, and Had my own Energy advising business, along with making music

 

What can you tell us about your latest release ‘Journey’s Groove – An Adventure In Life’, and why should our readers check it out!?

I am not sure if your readers will like a chill album, but I wanted to get away from mainstream prog and rock as I felt these songs need a special presentation. However, if your readers love good story telling with groove and soul this is the album, there are many stories that people will relate to, because it’s about real life experiences. Available in a cd format with 28 page lyric book from OOB Records and on all digital streaming platforms.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?

Be as original as you can, there no boundaries, enjoy being who you are
