Eximius offers an action packed blend of FPS and RTS, delivering a visually action packed cooperative game. This game is addictive from shooting enemies to strategizing your team filled with exploration, action, strategy, making it an excellent pick for team gameplay.
What is Eximius all about?
The game combines tactical First Person Shooter gameplay with high-level strategic decision making of a Real-time Strategy(RTS) game. The game features game modes where players square off. You can play as a commander, where you can build a base, train an army, call down support for your allies and assist with gaining territory, or you can play as an Officer and lead the squad into war and crush your enemies with FPS skills. This is a great multiplayer game and was a lot of fun playing with my partner, teaming up and annihilating the enemy.
Let’s take a look at what else Eximius has to offer.
Pros:
- Visuals
- The game is stunning, and looks great. Not only does it look very modern but the gameplay is smooth and feels really great. I really like how it looks when you’re in the action.
- Sounds
- The soundtrack is both catchy and atmospheric. When I was in the main menu it really pumped me up and got me ready for a game mode. During the action the sound effects really immerse you into the game.
- Roles
- You can play as a commander, where you can build a base, train an army, call down support for your allies and assist with gaining territory, or you can play as an Officer and lead the squad into war and crush your enemies with FPS skills.
- Exploration
- The game has a great big map and it was great seeing your commander drop support and instruct where you need to go to find something.
- Gameplay
- Eximius provides a multi role gameplay experience where each player could choose to play a different role and fight not only with shooting but with strategy. Seeing your teammate call reinforcements to assist and make sure you don’t get ambushed was amazing, or letting you know where the action is heading.
Cons:
- Bugs
- While not game-breaking, there were occasional assets that appeared out of nowhere. In the training simulations enemy assets only appeared in one area. Which let me camp and destroy easily.
- Lost and Confused
- I accidentally skipped a tutorial and couldn’t see it again. As a commander it felt like there wasn’t much time to set up, however missing that tutorial really hurt me and it was hard to individually click units to send for aid or for battle when they are grouped so closely together.
Overall, Eximius was a fun strategy game that combined First Person Shooter gameplay with high-level strategic decision making of a Real-time Strategy(RTS) game. It’s a very fun team based game, and the pros outweigh the cons. Due to playing this game with a team I had a lot of fun and really recommend playing this underrated game that has so much potential. I will definitely keep playing and can’t wait for it to continue striving.
