EPIPHONE REVEALS THE INSPIRED BY GIBSON CUSTOM WOWKIE DA J‑180

NASHVILLE, TN – Epiphone today announces the debut of the Inspired by Gibson Custom WoWkie Da J‑180, the brand’s first signature collaboration with Chinese pop superstar WoWkie Da. Available exclusively in China at Gibson and Epiphone authorized dealers and online via T-Mall, this striking acoustic model is built on the acclaimed Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom J‑180 LS platform and developed using original Gibson Custom designs. A devoted Gibson and Epiphone artist for decades, the release marks a milestone for Epiphone as it expands its global artist roster and strengthens its presence within the Chinese music community, uniting the company’s legacy of craftsmanship with the bold creative vision of one of China’s most influential contemporary artists.

WoWkie Da is one of China’s most dynamic and influential modern artists—a celebrated singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, producer, and television personality whose career has shaped multiple generations of pop music. He first rose to prominence in the late 1990s as the frontman of The Flowers, widely regarded as China’s first nationally recognized teenage band. Since launching his solo career in 2009, WoWkie Da has released 193 singles, sold more than five million records, and earned major honors including Top 10 Songs of the Year, Most Popular Male Singer, and All‑Around Artist of the Year. His high‑profile appearances on CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala and as a judge on hit programs such as The Big Band and Rap of China have further solidified his cultural impact.

The Epiphone WoWkie Da Signature IGC J‑180 features a 25.5-inch scale length, delivering greater projection, enhanced clarity, and a more powerful low end than traditional short‑scale acoustics. Premium tonewoods, including all‑solid construction, a thermally aged Sitka spruce top, and solid mahogany back and sides, ensure a rich, resonant voice suited for both studio and stage.

The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom WoWkie Da J‑180 features a one‑piece mahogany neck with a comfortable Rounded C profile offers smooth playability, while the L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze VTC pickup system provides exceptional amplified tone for live performance. Visually, the guitar is unmistakably WoWkie Da. A full‑gloss ebony black finish sets the stage for his signature logo on the top, complemented by distinctive mother‑of‑pearl star inlays adorning the ebony fretboard and bridge. His signature also appears on the truss rod cover, adding a final personal touch.
