ame Source Entertainment (GSE) announced today that the action RPG Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade, co-developed by Taiwanese indie game team 7QUARK and Finger Game, has released two new voice actor reveal PVs. These videos introduce the main characters ‘Sara,’ voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, and ‘Taketora,’ voiced by Rikiya Koyama. They join the previously announced popular voice actress Yoko Hikasa, who voices the ninja girl ‘Shigure.’ It was also announced that the latest demo of the game will be showcased at Europe’s largest gaming event, Gamescom 2024, held in Germany on August 21.
Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is a Japanese-style action RPG set in the Edo period, combining Roguelite mechanics. The story revolves around the King of Demons, the “Nine-Tailed Fox,” leading an army to attack the human world, shattering centuries of peace between humans and demons. Players will follow three main characters—a ninja girl, an oni emissary, and a demon samurai—wielding various mystical weapons such as demon swords, dual blades, and Japanese bows, as they battle an array of malevolent spirits in a cycle of life and death.
Since its reveal, the game’s unique classical Japanese art style has garnered attention from players both domestically and internationally. Its rich and thrilling combat elements have also been recognized by the international NYX Game Awards, where it won the Silver Award for Best Indie Game. Following last year’s announcement that the protagonist “Shigure” would be voiced by Yoko Hikasa, many players have been eager to learn about the voice cast for the other two main characters. After an extensive voice recording process, it was officially revealed today that the oni emissary “Sara” will be voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, and the demon samurai “Taketora” will be voiced by Rikiya Koyama. In the newly released PV, you can also catch a glimpse of the exciting combat featuring dual blades and Japanese bows through the development footage.
Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade features full Japanese voice acting, bringing the Japanese-themed world to life and allowing players to become fully immersed in the experience. Through the superb performances of the three popular voice actors, players will be able to delve deep into the inner worlds of the protagonists as they play through the three main storylines. While enjoying the different combat styles, players will also experience distinctly different story narratives.
Following its debut at the Tokyo Game Show 2023 in Japan last year, where it received positive feedback from both media and players, the game will once again head overseas. It will be available for demo at Europe’s largest gaming event, Gamescom 2024, held from August 21 to August 26. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the exhilarating combos of the single-blade ‘Demon Sword’ and the dual-wielding ‘Twin Blades.
