Gameloft is happy to announce that the next free update of Disney Speedstorm — “Partners in Paw” — is now live and ready to race on all platforms. Judy Hopps and friends from Disney’s Zootopia are on the case. Be sure to check out the game’s very first Speedrun competition and a new Ranked system!
Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s coming to the game in “Partners in Paw”:
-
Judy Hopps – Everyone’s favorite first rabbit officer at the Zootopia Police Department is ready to use her policing powers to take on the competition. Judy’s special “On the Case” passive Skill sees her turn on her police lights and gain a short speed boost. Uncharged, the Skill will Stun any opponent Judy collides with and while charged the Skill copies the last few Skills used by other Racers!
-
Nick Wilde – Nick’s “The ‘Perfect’ Ice Cream” Skill litters the track with melting popsicles and any opponent who races over them will see their nitro regeneration take a hit for a short time while Nick gets a buff to his own nitro regeneration. When charged, opponents suffer from an even bigger nitro debuff while Nick receives an even bigger boost to his own nitro regeneration.
-
Flash – Flash’s “Nice to… See You… Too” Skill sees the iconic sloth drive just below his maximum speed, but his prudence means he’s unable to be Stunned by any Racers. Uncharged, the Skill improves Flash’s speed and acceleration, with the biggest boost coming the further he is from first place. When charged, Flash uses his DMV experience to stamp the first-place racer, reducing their speed for a short duration.
-
New Crew Members – Bonnie and Stu Hopps, Finnick, Priscilla, Mr. Big, Fru Fru,
-
Yax, Gazelle, Mayor Lionheart, Gideon Grey
-
Mid-Season Racers – Two new Racers from The Emperor’s New Groove hit the track: Kuzco and Yzma. In addition, a bunch of new Crew Members from the film, including Pacha, Kronk, Theme Song Guy, Chaca, Tipo, Chicha, Bucky the Squirrel, Rudy, and Mata join the fun!
-
New Supercharged Racers and Vault – Six new supercharged Racers enter the fray with boosted stats and progression: Minnie Mouse from Disney’s Mickey and Friends, Randall from Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., Kermit the Frog from Disney’s The Muppets, Fix-It Felix and King Candy from Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph, and Hades from Disney’s Hercules.
-
New Vault additions include Baymax, Hiro Hamada and Honey Lemon from Disney’s Big Hero 6.
-
New Ranked system – See how you really stack up against the competition with the new Ranked system! The in-game Ranked hub will display your current ranking and league and let you compare both to other players. Watch in real time as your info changes according to other players’ performances. Be sure to rank up even more to gain access to exclusive rewards, including banners, player Avatar frames and even animated player Avatars!
Last but not least, in partnership with Speedrun.com, Disney Speedstorm is featuring its very first speedrunning event: “Catch the Suspect.”” Unlike in-game seasonal events, this challenge takes place outside the game, inviting players to livestream and record their own gameplay runs as they race through Disney Speedstorm.
Players will compete solo across 15 tracks, aiming to beat the developer’s time of 40 minutes and 1 second. To be eligible, participants must register, livestream and record their full run with game audio, and submit it to Speedrun.com for a chance to earn in-game rewards, a ZPD badge welcome gift, an exclusive License Plate for those who beat the mark, and a share of the $5,000 cash prize pool for the fastest Racers. The event runs from December 19 to 27.
