Cardboard Weapons and Corporate Chaos The Box Knight Demo is Out Now!

19 FEBRUARY 2026 – Australian production house turned indie game developer We Made A Thing Studios steps into game development with Box Knight, its first-ever playable title. The studio just launched the Steam demo, giving players an early look at its silly roguelike action RPG ahead of a full PC release in Q2 2026.

The new trailer just premiered during The MIX Indie Fan Fest, showcasing its frantic beat’em up-style combat, absurd office fantasy, and cardboard-wielding hero. The demo will participate in Steam Next Fest from 23 February to 2 March, remaining playable after the event.

The demo lets players take on three solo runs in an attempt to defeat the game’s first boss. While Box Knight is being designed with couch co-op in mind for its full release, cooperative play is not yet available in the current demo. Between runs, players can unlock new weapons, permanent upgrades, and cosmetic options, gradually strengthening their office hero and learning how to adapt to the game’s unpredictable enemy encounters.

About the Studio

Wemat Games is the interactive arm of award-winning production company We Made A Thing Studios, creating high-concept worlds, built for global audiences. Working across Film, TV and Games, the studio thrives on bold, multi-platform storytelling. Their debut title, Box Knight, is a funny, irreverent action-roguelike brawler that turns the monotony of the 9-5 office worker into heroic chaos. Think Hades, meets The Office, with a splash of South Park’s attitude.
