A New Era of Tokusatsu Begins With Toei’s New Hero Series “PROJECT R.E.D.”

Los Angeles, California – November 24, 2025 – Since 1975, Japan’s iconic Super Sentai series has defined the tokusatsu landscape. Now, after 50 years, Japan’s weekly tokusatsu broadcasting timeslot will welcome a brand-new project by Toei titled, PROJECT R.E.D., short for Records of Extraordinary Dimensions. PROJECT R.E.D. is a new tokusatsu series featuring a red hero in action. The project is slated to have numerous upcoming broadcast series with potential for crossovers within PROJECT R.E.D.

PROJECT R.E.D’s First Title: “SUPER SPACE SHERIFF GAVAN INFINITY”
PROJECT R.E.D ‘s inaugural title, “SUPER SPACE SHERIFF GAVAN INFINITY” is a reimagining of the legendary Space Sheriff Gavan (1982–1983), which was a work that depicted the hero’s exploits as he battles a space crime syndicate to protect Earth. Gavan’s influence extended far beyond Japan, capturing fans worldwide in the 80s. In an age when AI, space exploration, and advanced technology have now become reality, SUPER SPACE SHERIFF GAVAN INFINITY brings back to life the original heart of “GAVAN” reborn in a completely new series.

As the first series in PROJECT R.E.D., SUPER SPACE SHERIFF GAVAN INFINITY embodies the “Red Hero” theme at its core. The newly revealed Gavan dons a sleek, metallic red combat suit. The glowing red armor, teased in new visual materials, hints at the stylish, high-tech energy of this new hero. More information to be released soon.

More details on the characters and story will be announced soon. Stay tuned on PROJECT R.E.D’s official Japanese X account for the latest information.
