A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wander Westeros in the new series adapted from George R. R. Martin’s novella.
I was able to watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms once a week on my HBO Max subscription. I’m a fan of the Game of Thrones series, so I was hoping this would be a better series compared to the other one that show House of the Dragon. I will have to say A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is FANTASTIC!
The setting is perfect with the costumes that are on par with Game of Thrones. I would even say more in the light than gloominess of what we saw in the other series. The story is pretty good as you watch as Ser Dunk ventures off looking into participate in an event. He then meets Egg at a stable and soon Egg follows him to become his squire. I will stop there as I don’t want to spoil much, but its a good show. This is the slow part but after that, show goes into the story very well. Each episode is 30 minutes long which is my only gripe, as I’m used to 45 to 60 minutes an episode. Either way, this is a pretty good show for everyone to check out!
Pro:
- Setting
- The setting and costumes were so well designed and utilized! I felt like I was back in their kingdoms watching as how it would play out between the king and his princes.
- Story
- The story of Ser Dunk and Egg in Westeros where they meet challenges and discover their true selves. I enjoyed the story, it did start slow, with an ending that had a tear in your eye when you see it.
Con:
- Only 30 minutes an episode
- My only gripe is that this show is 30 minutes an episode which I wanted for it to be longer. Either way, good show.
Rating: 9.5 out of 10
