Unwelcome Film Review

Unwelcome Film Review

Unwelcome is a film by director Jon Wright starring Hannah John-Karmen and Douglas Booth. As a young couple gets life-changing news. Things go south fast as they are about to become victims of a home invasion. As a bit of time passes they find out Jamie’s Aunt has passed and left him a home in the country.

Uprooting away from the horrible memory of the attack they move to this new home. Thinking of a fresh start is exactly what they need. A whole new nightmare is about to unfold for them. Deep-rooted folklore and stories they start to feel a bit overwhelmed with all the work that needs to be done to the house and a baby on the way. One final instruction is given that makes no sense. That must be respected and done without fail. A blood offering to Red Hats goblins of the forest.

Maya agrees to keep the offering going just she does not fully understand how serious this is. They will learn quickly why they did it. A whirlwind of death and problems start to happen and Maya will come face-to-face with them. The lore and stories start to unravel and some start to make sense. Maya will have to make some very bad deals with them and uncover the truth about a family tragic death.

I have wanted to see this one since I saw the trailer and it did not disappoint one bit. A folklore horror film with some deep creepiness. I give this one an 8 out of 10 for the great story and creepy Irish Folklore horror vibe. The goblins are done amazingly well and the blood and gore are done just right in my book. A great creature feature in a throwback vibe of the 80s films. check this one out now from Well Go USA Entertainment.
