Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost is a recent Unknownx and Alliance Arts release. Originally a mobile game, it has been adapted for PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch with English, Japanese, Korean, and traditional Chinese language options. It is a single-player derivate rhythm action game with two modes: story and free.
In story mode, players can unravel mysteries revolving around the destroyed Gensokyo through the rhythmic game Danmaku Kagura. The story follows a girl with amnesia who needs to regain her memories. She encounters a glimmer of light named Mitama, who explains that the girl must collect Mitama cards that contain fragments of her memories, find out why Phantasia is in ruins, and restore what was lost. Additionally, players can experience the storyline through a sound novel starring Reimu, which changes the game’s pace and causes players to slow down.
Free mode allows players to freestyle and play to their preferred beat, with over 171 original Touhou songs. One objective in free mode is hitting the right notes consecutively, enabling players to build high-number combos and develop a high score. Additionally, players can customize elements, including note designs, speed, and screen arrangement, which enhances the overall gameplay experience, leaving players to find their unique groove.
Overall, the game is suitable for rhythm game fans.

- Detailed tutorials and helpful abilities
- Easy to play
Con:
- Each song note needs to be adjusted for the individual song

- Lacks multiplayer mode
Rating: 5 out of 10
