Leicestershire, England, November 26th, 2025 – Independent developer and publisher Parable Studios is pleased to announce its dating-sim role-playing game Millennium Whisper has just released its first major game update for 2025.
The City Update brings a whole range of modified features and introduces a new city map where players can now buff stats like STEM, Humanities, Reputation and more as well as experience hidden events. Beautiful new environment art adds a visual enhancement and shows off the intricacies of the world of Escafield. Not only that, but new seasonal character outfits are also introduced.
On the tech side, a smaller and faster new A.I model and new A.I engine which promotes much lower memory usage rounds out the latest update.
Set in 1999 Millennium Whisper is a fresh new approach to the ethical use of AI in video games. Converse with a cast like never before – achieved by utilizing AI trained by real actors portraying the cast who are also compensated with royalties for their creative contributions – as you navigate a multitude of relationships and a bustling college life to win the affection of one of thirteen (or more, but beware) unique AI characters at Escafeld College each with their own look, personality, interests, and more.
Millennium Whisper was built with initial funding from the UKRI Innovation Grant and is the first ever on-device AI video game on Steam.
The City Update Features
New City map – explore Escafeld by selecting the shoes on the home screen. You can now buff your stats and experience new events, maybe even running into someone on the way. Locations can be explored on your own, or select the location when you have a date booked there to go with someone else. We can’t wait for you to see the plethora of shenanigans and secrets now possible throughout the year.
New Environment Art – we’ve revamped more than half of the in-game backgrounds, including all school locations and most of the locations with city map activities. There’s even new borders and UI elements! We hope to have all the locations revamped by the end of the year.
New AI Model – We’ve played around with this one and anticipate it being a noticeable step up from before in terms of not getting confused quite so much and remembering things. It’s also smaller and faster!
New AI Engine – We’ve done a huge overhaul to the AI’s inference system and so you should see a major speed up after the first interaction of every event, as well as much lower memory usage, overall giving a much quicker and smoother experience.
More Character Outfits – the characters now have a different outfit for every season.
