Pittsburgh, PA – Jan. 22, 2025 – Get ready to dive into the world of terrible games once again as Retroware and Mega Cat Studios announce The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit, coming to the NES and all modern platforms in Q2 2025.
Heavily inspired by classic side-scrollers like Megaman, The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit challenges players to battle through frantic platforming levels and defeat classic AVGN enemies to save gaming from a corrupted monstrosity.
Developed by the retro-focused felines at Mega Cat Studios, The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit will be available exclusively through Limited Run Games, with different editions to be announced at a later date. Starting today, the game is now available to wishlist on Steam. As an added bonus, fans can receive a free 11×24 poster on the game’s official site.
Itching to get an early taste of what’s in store? Fans will get their first chance to play The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit in a replicated Nerd room at MAGFest this weekend in the MIVS exhibit.
The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit is packed with Pennsylvania Pride, as Pittsburgh-based developer Mega Cat Studios joins forces with Cinemassacre and Retroware, both located in the Philly area.
