The ULTIMATE NERD RAGE is back in Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit – an all-new action platformer set in the AVGN universe! Play as The Nerd and blast your way across a host of pixel art levels crawling with zombies, mechanical skeletons, ghoulish reapers, and more!
We were able to get a Steam and Xbox Review key for the video game The Angry Video Game Nerd 8 Bit game that is out now! Chris was able to play the game on Steam and posted his gameplay below. I was able to play the game on my Xbox Series S console and had some fun. The game downloaded quite quickly on my Xbox and once done, I sat down and played it.
The AVGN universe is growing and I enjoyed the call backs throughout the game. You are met with enemies that were from previous stories involving AVGN. I enjoyed how he utilized his universe and continued those characters as he battled his way to success. The game is very retro and I like that. I felt like I was a kid again playing my NES and enjoying those days. Memories flooded back to my mind that had my heart beating hard. I do wish there was more levels in the game, but its all good. I felt it was a good balance for the game.

- AVGN Universe
- The AVGN universe is shown a lot during the game including ole foes as well. I enjoyed those call backs as I’ve been a fan for years.
- Retro
- 8 Bit is just how it is…8 Bit and very retro. I felt like a kid again on my NES playing a side scroller trying to win against the enemies. AVGN 8 Bit did just that and much more!
Con:
- Want More Levels
- I enjoyed the game and found it quite satisfying. I would like to have more levels in the there to explore and conquer. I know there were a pretty good amount of levels, but I wanted more haha.
