On October 23, 2025, Philly-based video game publisher and developer Retroware will bring the foul-mouthed internet icon to Steam and modern consoles for another punishing retro-inspired extravaganza.
Developed by Programancer, AVGN 8-Bit combines fast-paced side-scrolling action, precision platforming, and newly filmed live-action sequences to make you feel like you’re playing your own episode of the long-running web series.
Alongside the digital launch on all major consoles and PC, a full NES-compatible cartridge is in the works, produced by Pittsburgh’s retro-focused indie publisher Mega Cat Studios. Pre-orders for both the physical NES edition and boxed console versions will be going live soon via Limited Run Games.
