Survival Horror Returns to iPhone, iPad, and Mac with Resident Evil™ 7 biohazard and Resident Evil™ 2

Today, Capcom announced two fan favorite games from the award-winning Resident Evil™ series are creeping onto the latest Apple devices. The scariest entry in the series, Resident Evil™ 7 biohazard is coming to the App Store on July 2, 2024 for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and every iPad and Mac with the M1 chip or later. The highly acclaimed remake of Resident Evil™ 2 is also currently in development for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Powered by Capcom’s RE ENGINE, both games provide console quality experiences running natively on Apple silicon across Apple devices. These beloved titles utilize Apple’s MetalFX Upscaling technology to deliver impressive visuals and remarkable performance on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Players will be able to try a portion of each game at launch with a free download before accessing the full experience with a single purchase. The titles also offer Universal Purchase and cross progression between iPhone, iPad, and Mac. With these features, players can enjoy survival horror on all three devices and continue their save games whether at home or on the go.

The iPhone and iPad versions of Resident Evil 7 biohazard will include enhanced controls with a new Auto Fire feature. This addition provides players with an approachable option to automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies for a set period of time. Compatible Bluetooth controllers are also supported for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, offering an experience mirroring home consoles.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard will be available for pre-order starting today. The main game and Not A Hero story DLC, where Chris Redfield is on a mission to put the case to rest, will be released together as a bundle. Players can also dive deeper into Ethan Winters’ tale with the Gold Edition upgrade, which expands the game with a variety of optional DLC, including End of ZoeBanned Footage Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, the 5-Coin Set, Survival Pack, and Madhouse difficulty mode.

The latest entries in Capcom’s best-selling series, Resident Evil™ 4 and Resident Evil™ Village, are also currently available on iPhone 15 Pro models as well as iPads and Macs with M-series chips.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard sets a new course for the Resident Evil series, leveraging its roots while opening the door to a terrifying new experience. A dramatic shift to the first-person perspective and photorealistic visuals powered by Capcom’s RE ENGINE, Resident Evil 7 biohazard takes horror and immersion to a new level. The story introduces players to Ethan Winters, a man whose search for his missing wife brings him to a sinister southern farmhouse where he must fight to survive.

Based on the original genre-defining masterpiece, Resident Evil 2 returns as a deeper narrative experience completely rebuilt from the ground up. Using Capcom’s RE ENGINE, this reimagining of Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-pounding immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of the gameplay modes from the original game. The adventure follows rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they travel to Raccoon City only to find themselves trapped in a zombie nightmare from which they must escape.
