Brooklyn, NY — SORRYNOTSORRY has unveiled their newest record, THE OTHER SIDE, an album born from resilience, love, and a rare musical harmony. More than just a collection of songs, the project stands as a powerful statement of commitment and renewal. “This album is the consolidation of SORRYNOTSORRY. It is the journey of us finding our band, of coming from a place where life seemed uncertain, the future bleak, leaving behind a broken path and committing our entire energy into ourselves,” the duo shares. THE OTHER SIDE is now available to stream worldwide.
The album flows as a continuous experience, each track bleeding into the next like chapters of transformation. Its opener, “New Ground,” sets an inquisitive tone with dual vocals from Andrés Cottin and Samantha Dagnino over a bass-driven groove and acid-washed guitar. Songs like “Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs” highlight their mantra-like approach, while “Death/ Obsolete” drifts into psychedelic textures that expand the project’s sonic landscape. Tracks such as “Aum Hai (Light & Dark)” extend this atmosphere, channeling an entrancing, brooding energy as Dagnino’s vocalizations build into an electronic-driven wave. “Disappear,” one of the lead singles, delivers haunting melancholy that resonates long after listening, while “Foggy Like a Bladerunner” serves as an anthem of survival and clarity, channeling endurance through emotional and existential fog. THE OTHER SIDE moves between meditative, driving, and expansive moments, all anchored in the duo’s vision of inspiring listeners to shed their old selves and reconnect with joy, compassion, and renewal. Influences on the record nod to both lyrical and musical icons, drawing inspiration from Bob Marley, Khruangbin, and Pink Floyd, while weaving in the sonic spirit of Tame Impala, Radiohead, Low, and Billie Eilish. Yet the album remains deeply personal. “Andrés and I were both a little broken when we met,” Dagnino reflects. “Making this album helped us heal and connect in a deeper way than I have ever experienced with anyone before.” The universe seemed determined to divide them, but creating this album became their act of resistance—a choice to bet on love and carve out a new path together. Mixed by Cottin and mastered by Zach Kornhauser (Portugal. The Man, Sia, Kelly Clarkson), THE OTHER SIDE strikes a delicate balance between heaviness and tenderness, capturing a rare bond in sound and life. The project also highlights the creative vision of photographer Joaquin Broughton, who captured all of the band’s imagery, and features Max Yassky on drums for “New Ground,” “Upon Arrival,” “Foggy Like a Bladerunner,” and “Cubic Trees.”
SORRYNOTSORRY first began as a solo project before evolving into a band when Dagnino and Cottin met in New York. Both Venezuelan-born multi-instrumentalists, they quickly found a shared vision and rhythm, establishing the project as a vessel for artistic freedom and urgency. Since then, they have mirrored each other’s experimental approaches, crafting boundary-pushing releases that have garnered praise from outlets such as glamglare, EARMILK, NYS Music, 1883 Magazine, and Up To Hear Music.
THE OTHER SIDE marks the boldest exploration yet from the duo, an album that seeks to inspire change, healing, and connection in listeners everywhere. Follow SORRYNOTSORRY on Instagram @SORRYNOTSORRYisaband and visit SORRYNOTSORRYisaband.com for more updates.
