SORRYNOTSORRY Releases Experimental Single “Foggy Like a Bladerunner”

Brooklyn, NY – Psychedelic rock duo SORRYNOTSORRY has released their third single, “Foggy Like a Bladerunner.” Driving and emotionally rich, this track offers a cinematic blend of retro textures, hypnotic vocals, and a message of persistence through emotional and existential chaos. Building anticipation for their upcoming debut album, The Other Side“Foggy Like a Bladerunner” is out now on all major streaming platforms.

Driven by fuzzy guitar layers, hypnotic vocals, and a steady beat, “Foggy Like a Bladerunner” captures what it feels like to move through emotional fog and come out the other side. The mantra-like lyrics, “we’ve gone through war… we’re still alive,” are simple yet powerful, highlighting themes of endurance, loneliness, and healing. The lyrics are spare and haunting, reinforcing the band’s ethos of letting a sonic atmosphere do the work to create emotional resonance. Written and produced by SORRYNOTSORRY’s Andrés Cottin and Sam Dagnino, the track builds slowly and confidently, layering psychedelic textures with a kind of emotional weight that stays with you. “The day we wrote this, the sky was orange and apocalyptic from the Canadian wildfires,” says Cottin. “It felt like we had reached maximum world degradation—but instead of absorbing that darkness, we channeled our gratitude into the music.” The drums, recorded by Cottin and Dagnino at NYC session musician Max Yassky’s home on a portable rig, add an organic grit that balances the dreamy atmosphere while intensifying the intimacy of the recording. Cottin handled the mix, and Zach Kornhauser (Sia, Portugal. The Man, Kelly Clarkson) mastered the track for release. “Foggy Like a Bladerunner” isn’t just a teaser of the album; it’s a mission statement. It’s a moment of transition, capturing both the disorientation and clarity that comes from growth. The song’s urgency makes it cathartic by blurring genres and expectations. “The name just kind of appeared,” Cottin adds. “We kept saying all day, ‘It’s foggy like Bladerunner outside.’ I love that the name doesn’t come from a lyric—it’s more like a feeling we couldn’t ignore.”

SORRYNOTSORRY is a Brooklyn-based psychedelic rock duo led by Venezuelan artists Sam Dagnino and Andrés Cottin. The band emerged from a chance encounter in a Long Island City recording studio, where a one-time jam session quickly evolved into an intuitive creative partnership. Dagnino, returning to music after an eight-year break, found in Cottin a collaborator who shared her experimental instincts and commitment to authenticity. Together, they create a sound that nods to influences like Radiohead, Khruangbin, and Tame Impala, while staying distinctly their own. A deeply improvisational and fluid process, their writing is anchored by curiosity instead of convention.

“Foggy Like a Bladerunner” delivers a sonic vision that acknowledges darkness but insists on light. This anthem is a reminder to everyone navigating the in-between that they’re still here and that they’re not alone.
