“Silo” is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and those who try to find out face fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.
I was able to get a 3 month free subscription to Apple TV plus on my Roku device. I started to look around for a show to check out and stumbled upon this show called Silo. I read the description of the show and decided to check out the first episode. After about 20 minutes, I was hooked. I couldn’t move or even check my phone as time whirled rapidly around me.
A young woman and her husband are trying to have a child. They live underground in their silo with 10,00o other residents. She then discovers someone that has a hard drive that needs her help. Once she helps him and uncovers some truths, she is sent out to “clean”. This leads to a huge unraveling involving the sheriff, mayor, head of IT, and many other people. The story is incredible in this show! You feel that you are given something drastically new and different in those regards that I couldn’t stop watching. I was able to binge the show in just 2 days as I couldn’t stop watching the show. The cast which included Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins and many more brought these characters to life. The one I enjoyed the most is Sims who is portrayed by Common brought many dimensions to that character. I felt like I knew Sims from the people I have known in my life. Very powerful! So much in this show and story that you must watch and check out!
My Thoughts
Pro:
- Story
- The unraveling of elements in the story is just spell binding! I just couldn’t believe the amount of details went into the story that produced so much action, creativity, and more. I was hooked on learning what is next and what is happening and how it connects from previous elements of the show.
- Cast
- The cast did a great job bringing these characters to life. I enjoyed the character of Sims portrayed by Common as he brought multiple dimensions of that character to life. You see the strict structure of that character that also allowed light to flow through him from the ease of his child. Very powerful!
