SANTA FE KLAN RELEASES “BAILE CHOLO,” A REFLECTION ON LIFE, LOVE, AND LOSS TOLD THROUGH CUMBIAS

NEW YORK (November 20, 2025) – One of the most innovative voices in Latin music today, Santa Fe Klan releases his highly anticipated new album Baile Cholo. Produced by Julián Villarreal and Ángel J Quezada (Santa Fe Klan), the 26-track project is his most immersive and intentional work to date, shaped not only by emotion but by a deep creative apprenticeship. During the album’s creation in Monterrey, Santa Fe Klan became a student again, learning and recording with real instruments that form the foundation of the entire project. Every instrument heard on the album is played live, giving Baile Cholo the organic pulse and authenticity of the cumbia tradition that raised him. The cover art further expands on the spirit of the title Baile Cholo, evoking fiestas, familia and the world of cumbia. For Santa Fe Klan, dancing is not just movement but a reflection of identity, community and the moments that shape us. Blending the infectious rhythms of cumbia with his raw and personal lyricism, Santa Fe Klan creates a space where vulnerability and celebration coexist, allowing listeners to feel every note as both intimate and universal. With Baile Cholo, he lays bare a full spectrum of emotions, capturing both the beauty and the struggles of life with unflinching sincerity, told through the vivid spirit of cumbias. With collaborations from influential voices across the cumbia landscape, including Anaidita Y Su Sonora, Alberto Y Roberto, Javier López y Los Reyes Vallenatos, Los Kombolokos, Passion Vallenata and Toy SelectahBaile Cholo bridges the heart of the genre with a bold and modern vision. Honoring the sound that formed his identity while pushing it into a new era, the album stands as Santa Fe Klan’s most expansive tribute to the culture that shaped him. Baile Cholo and the official music video for the focus track “Claves” are now available on all streaming platforms.

The album opens with “CLAVES” as its focus track, a nostalgic cumbia driven by playful organ melodies that contrast sharply with its crime-tinged storyline. Through vivid, candid storytelling, Santa Fe Klan recounts a day of street mischief that unravels the moment he hears a string of radio “codes” signaling he’s being tracked. The track’s irony is central to its charm – its upbeat, feel-good rhythm carries a narrative of tension, trouble, and unexpected consequences. The accompanying music video brings the story to life with cinematic flair, transforming “CLAVES” into a vivid journey through Santa Fe Klan‘s world. From there, the album shifts into “ME IRÉ,” a haunting reflection on a love that can no longer survive. Santa Fe Klan confronts betrayal with painful clarity, recognizing that walking away is the only path to peace. The melancholy tone captures the emotional weight of letting go. The mood softens with “UN PACTO,” a hopeful declaration of unwavering devotion. Santa Fe Klan describes a bond so strong it feels sacred, expressing a love defined by loyalty, passion, and openness. That tenderness gives way to the commanding energy of “FSK,” a triumphant anthem rooted in resilience, pride, and earned respect. Set to an infectious cumbia beat, the track channels unshakable confidence and celebrates the strength that defines him and the place he comes from.

Santa Fe Klan continues the album’s emotional momentum with “NO HACE FALTA” alongside Anaidita Y Su Sonora, an upbeat yet candid look at a love losing its spark. Refusing to overlook the signs, he turns heartbreak into self-assurance, using fiery honesty to reclaim his power. The ache deepens in “TE FUISTE,” a melancholic reflection on betrayal and the lingering pull of a love that’s already slipped away. Still navigating the wounds of the past, “REPROCHES” finds him confronting regret and the unresolved feelings that remain long after a relationship ends. This introspection shifts into tenderness with “PARA MÍ HIJO,” a heartfelt dedication that captures the purity of a father’s love. The emotional thread continues on the previously released “NO SERÉ QUIÉN CANTA,” where he embraces the maturity required to heal. The uncertainty of love takes center stage in “A LO MEJOR,” a portrait of longing and emotional limbo with someone unable to choose. Honoring the classics, Santa Fe Klan joins Alberto y Roberto for a modern reimagining of “PERRO LOBO,” bridging generations with a refreshed yet nostalgic sound.

Turning inward, the previously released “WUARE” paints a raw picture of struggle, loneliness, and the numbing escape of vices. That self-reflection deepens in “NOMÁS LOKEEZ,” an empowering anthem that celebrates hard-earned success and the grit behind it, strengthened by Passion Vallenata’s dynamic performance. A sonic shift arrives with “BÁJATE LA FALDA,” a Colombian-style cumbia filled with playful jealousy and neighborhood tensions. Themes of trust and devotion return in “POR LOS MÍOS,” a proud and unapologetic ode to loyalty. Desire takes center stage in “TU PERFUME,” a sensual collaboration with Los Kombolokos, blending hypnotic production with a fiery rap verse to capture the heat of lust and late-night indulgence. The intensity cools into reflection with the previously released “REJAS,” a sobering narrative on the grip of destructive habits. That vulnerability carries into the previously released “A MI VIEJO,” a soulful, cinematic cumbia that honors life, loss, and the enduring presence of loved ones who have passed. Inspired by the traditions of Día de los Muertos, the track celebrates remembrance as an act of love – transforming grief into gratitude and keeping the spirit of those we’ve lost alive through music. “MI SUFRIMIENTO” follows with a raw portrayal of emotional pain, using somber cumbia rhythms to express the loneliness of silent struggles.

In stark contrast, “QUE BONITA” celebrates life with uplifting energy, embracing joy, confidence, and gratitude. The honesty returns in “MALA,” a cathartic release of heartbreak marked by betrayal, transforming pain into empowerment. That emotional intensity surges into “Y SI NOS VAMOS” alongside Toy Selectah, an electrifying reinterpretation that heightens the song’s urgency through bold instrumentation and vibrant production. Its momentum flows into “ME ENAMORÉ,” a warm and sincere ode to the dizzying rush of love at first sight. The album begins its closing sequence with “DEBO ENTENDER,” a reimagined version of the previously released guitar-driven confession – now transformed into a cathartic, rhythmic cumbia. The project arrives at its most powerful moment with “Y SI NOS VAMOS,” the original version of the track. Returning the song to its raw, reflective core, it captures the longing, resilience, and depth of connection that echo throughout the album. As a closing statement, it reinforces the essence of Baile Cholo – that within every moment of joy, heartbreak, struggle, and celebration, cumbia remains the heartbeat that carries our stories forward.
