SANTA ANA, CA – Music Meets Fashion takes the stage Saturday, August 9, 2025, with an immersive celebration of style, sound, and social impact Curated by Grammy-considered recording artist Annyett Royale — a former artist with No Limit Records — and produced by Royale Records, the event fuses high fashion, live musical performances, and advocacy to benefit the American Diabetes Association, spotlighting the realities of those living with diabetes and inspiring others to dream boldly, regardless of the challenges they face.
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just four years old, Royale created Music Meets Fashion in 2017 to raise awareness and inspire others living with the disease. Through her music and advocacy, she’s turned what many consider a limitation into a lifelong mission to uplift and educate. According to the American Diabetes Association®, more than 38 million Americans live with diabetes, including over 2 million with type 1.
“No one talks about how you live with diabetes—they only talk about the severe complications from having it,” said Royale. “Music has been my outlet and my therapy, it’s also been my stage to create awareness and uplift others. I want people to know they can keep dreaming, no matter the obstacles.”
The event also pays tribute to Royale’s late co-producer and original Music Meets Fashion co-founder, Jamal Parker, who lost his life to complications from type 1 diabetes. His vision helped bring the first event to life in 2017, and his legacy lives on in every beat, design, and message shared on this stage.
Held at The Plug, located at 1950 E. 17th Street in Santa Ana, CA, the event will run from 2 PM to 7 PM and feature the live debut of Royale’s new single, “Destiny,” produced in collaboration with Lorie V. Moore—a singer, songwriter, actress, and finalist on The X Factor USA Season 3 Royale, who has collaborated with artists such as Poppa Snoop (aka Vernell Varnado), Ashanti, and Ja Rule, continues to use her platform to merge artistry with advocacy. Moore will also make her DJ debut at the event, spinning live for the crowd.
Emceed by RJ “Poloman” Johnson and comedian Nicky Simone, the event features high-energy performances from recording artists J.T. Beatz, Dex Elliot, Berkley the Artist, Kijafa, and more. A VIP hour from 2–3 PM invites guests to enjoy crafted cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, red carpet interviews hosted by Allen Shay of Our Society TV, and exclusive swag bags. The main event kicks off at 3 PM, featuring a dynamic mix of runway fashion, musical performances, and an unforgettable evening of glamour, creativity, and impact.
Fashion takes center stage through a curated lineup of visionary designers. Will Franco, a Mexican-American couture designer, brings cross-cultural artistry to the runway with ethically sourced collections. The Jesse J Collection, one of the industry’s top fashion styling houses, delivers signature red-carpet glamour. Michelle Stevenson’s Mood Art Collection fuses emotional storytelling with wearable art, while Andrea “Cherri” Dorsey, a pioneering “swimsuitologist,” showcases body-positive swimwear that celebrates confidence and curves. Black Rose, Sheek Boutique, One World Peace, Keosha Piper, and Cristina Tenille round out the show with polished, contemporary designs crafted to empower and inspire.
This year’s event is powered by generous sponsors, including Salon Success Academy of Corona, providing professional hair and makeup services, and The Plug, which has donated its private venue in support of the cause. Additional sponsors include Macy’s, Daniels Jewelers, Sweet Butta Cream Products, FCI Fashion School, Luxury Multi-Cultural Hair Salon, and Raen Sunglasses, each contributing to the elevated experience of Music Meets Fashion.
The creative direction will be curated by Visual Producer J Pash, with event producers Raven Wilson of CIM Entertainment Group and Lorie Moore joining Royale at the helm. Together, this team brings creative vision, production expertise, and a shared commitment to inspiring purpose through art and performance.
“The American Diabetes Association is honored to be a benefactor of Music Meets Fashion, an event that brings awareness to the lived experience of people with diabetes through creative expression, storytelling, and community,” said Anita M. Dominguez, Executive Director, Southern California American Diabetes Association “Annyett’s journey and voice bring much-needed visibility and inspiration to the millions impacted by this disease.”
“Music Meets Fashion is where art and advocacy walk the same runway,” Royale added. “It’s glamorous, it’s powerful, and it’s deeply personal. It’s bigger than the music.”
