The planet needs saving in the most brutal fashion! Who is there to summon the power of darkness to stop evil from taking over as well as play some kickass music. Dethklok is back in the new animated movie Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar! You will join Nathan Explosion, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, Toki Wartooth, Pickles, and Murder Face as they work together as Dethklok to stop the world from ending, create new music, and figure out more about themselves. Army of Doomstar provides a fantastic look at how we perceive ourselves around others, while looking for something we want that isn’t there.
We were able to get a review copy of Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar to review. We did an unboxing below of the blu ray to show what was inside of our copy. We first watched the movie on Blu Ray and it was pretty damn good. The movie using our blu ray player looked very brutal on our Smart TV. I was able to redeem my digital code and watch the move again but using MoviesAnywhere. I have to say again, Brutal! I don’t want to spoil much in our review, but its damn good! The animated movie ties in a lot of the lore of the show, and of course some kickass music as well.
Our Thoughts:
Pro:
- Story
- Nathan is burned out from the previous Metalocalypse feature after resecuring Toki and former producer Abigail. He feels the pressure for a new album while trying to figure things out for himself. He spirals out of control into writers block as well as not knowing who he is in the band and in life. While this is happening, a new apocalypse is starting to happen where the planet could be destroyed. Nathan and the rest of the band must focus all their time and energy to figure out how to stop the Metalocalypse and save the world.
- Special Feature
- I enjoyed looking at the special feature on this blu ray! Behind the Metal Curtain gives us a glimpse of the creator, making the finale, and much more! I enjoy watching these type of behind the scenes content as its always interesting and fun to learn about.
- The Ending
- The ending was orgasmic! You can’t spell it out even more than that. I don’t want to spoil anything about it, but it was brutal, kvlt, and metal. I don’t think I blinked once during that time and I’m starting to watch it again!
