Opening with emotional clarity, “Cuéntame” unites Majo Aguilar and Alex Fernández, merging two iconic Mexican music dynasties. The duet sets the tone for Mariachi Mío, embracing heartbreak, pride, and self-respect while honoring tradition. This seamlessly leads into “Luna Azul,” a collaboration with Santa Fe Klan that blends mariachi with urban sounds, exploring longing and loss with raw emotion. The album’s focus track, “Que Te Vaya Bien,” continues this journey of empowerment, channeling clarity and resilience in the face of heartbreak. Majo balances vulnerability and strength, using mariachi’s classic instrumentation to underscore themes of letting go and self-worth. “Piel Azteca” shifts the lens outward, celebrating Mexican identity and collective pride, while “El Beso” and “Si Tú No Vuelves” explore the intimacy and complexity of love, its passion, longing, and quiet heartbreak, through her signature mariachi tumbado style.

Taking back her power, “Mala Mala” is a fiery declaration of self-confidence and unapologetic strength, followed by the reflective vulnerability of “Aún Así Te Vas” and “Quise Algo Bien,” both of which explore love, sacrifice, and the nuances of giving without receiving. The original album closes with “No Pidas Perdón,” a statement of resilience and self-respect. The Deluxe edition introduces four tracks that deepen the album’s emotional and thematic arc. “No Más Canciones De Amor” confronts lingering heartbreak with defiance, while “Veracruz” celebrates heritage and family through a duet with her grandfather, José Carrillo, honoring Mexican tradition. “Así Son Las Cosas” captures the playful unpredictability of love, and the album closes with “Chilo,” an empowering anthem of liberation and self-love that transforms past pain into strength. Together, these 14 tracks showcase Majo Aguilar’s ability to bridge tradition and contemporary innovation, creating an album that reflects emotional honesty, cultural pride, and her continued evolution as a defining voice in música Mexicana.

Majo Aguilar continues to reaffirm her place as one of música Mexicana’s most compelling voices, balancing tradition with innovation in every release. On November 9, she made history as the first woman ambassador of the World Mariachi Congress, which celebrated its second edition, a prestigious cultural gathering honoring Mexico’s most emblematic musical tradition. Majo closed the event with a special four-song performance at the Zócalo in Mexico City, marking a powerful and symbolic moment in the genre’s legacy. This milestone underscores Majo’s growing influence as a leading contemporary voice, blending deep respect for heritage with a fresh and authentic perspective. With over 458 million global streams, her impact on música Mexicana is undeniable. She most recently won Best Mexican Mariachi Music at the 2025 Premios Juventud for her collaboration with Alex Fernández on “Cuéntame,” following her triumph at the Premios Heat 2025 for Best Song for Video Games, Series, or Movies for the same track from the hit telenovela Me Atrevo a Amarte, and earlier this year was named Mexican Music – Female Artist of the Year at the 27th Annual Premio Lo Nuestro. This past May, Majo delivered a powerful rendition of the Mexican national anthem at the highly anticipated boxing match for Mexico’s most iconic athlete, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, captivating thousands in the arena and millions watching around the world, proudly carrying her heritage to the global stage in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These milestones celebrate her artistry, honor her roots, and cement her position as a defining force in música Mexicana.
