Austin superstar musician and producer Jackie Venson kicked off her annual January residency at Antone’s Nightclub on 5th Street with a sold-out show on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Performing songs from her first proper debut album, “Evolution of Joy”, Venson performed about 2 hours’ worth of music.
As always, the night was full of fiery energy from the singer-songwriter-guitarist, who takes her craft very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that the show only briefly stopped when Venson’s sister and co-manager, Christina Venson, graced the stage to cut the artist’s curly bangs, which were getting in the way of her seeing the crowd’s “beautiful faces.”

Self-described sapphic R&B group Lady Monday opened the show, easing the audience into a night of sultry slow jams and exhilarating party music.

Jackie Venson, the ever-innovating musician and entrepreneur, continues to stay busy.
In fall 2025, Venson launched her newest business venture — Found Sound ATX, an affordable music rehearsal, performance, and event rental space located in north Austin.

The space features six spacious rooms for bands to rehearse — each complete with PA, 8-channel mixer, plus miscrophones, stands, XLR cables, and power strips — as well as the 900-square-foot “Big Room,” perfect for small events, large band rehearsals, and photo/video production studio rentals.
Venson will also be heading out on a U.S. tour this spring, beginning March 6 in The Colony, TX, and concluding (for now) on June 4.in Frederick, MD.
Catch Jackie Venson and her 4-piece band every Saturday this month at Antone’s, where the artist will perform songs from her extensive and diverse catalog of blues rock, pop, soul, R&B, reggae, and electronic music.
