Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
Surroundings?

Inspiration is everywhere. A word, a conversation overhead, my history, my current state, my possible future; there’s no limit!

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

I grew up listening to a lot of classic rock, jazz & latin music. Was surrounded by the pop music of the late 90’s/early 2000’s and loved me my Pop-Punk in middle school. Then Hip-Hop took over my life in high school and then college I got really into Psychedelic Rock. It’s so important to listen to all types of music. Good music is good music regardless of genre!

Is there someone you looked up to as a hero?

Radiohead has always been a north star for me in terms of quality of music & expression.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?

Probably filming/shooting photos in the skateboarding world.

What can you tell us about your new album ‘Hang Ten Colors to Catch the Sun’?

It is my 2nd record under my ttwig moniker & is meant to be listened to front to back uninterrupted. This record really encapsulates the time I spent living in California & is full of things I learned, felt, thought & experienced during that time. Have a listen & shoot me a message! I love connecting with people.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
Music?

Pick a main instrument & start playing around. Make music for you. Listen to your heart. Get out of your head & into your body. Let the music tell you what to write. It’s all about your ear, not your gear (though a nice vintage microphone & some trippy guitar pedals can certainly help inspire you).
