Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

My inspiration is my internal feeling – I try to find it on the guitar

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

My background in music is quite varied – but the dominant genre would have been rock and grunge as a teenager. As a younger kid I loved pop music, Michael Jackson, and as an older teenager I fell into the 60’s and 70’s – classic rock and pop. Over the years I find inspiration in heaps of places, hip hop, R&B, classical music, singer songwriter, Spanish acoustic guitar. Pop music is probably the genre I have fallen out of love with over time.

Is there someone you looked up to as a hero?

John Frusciante is my hero on the guitar. The way he just makes the guitar come alive is incredible. My drum hero is probably Danny Carey from Tool – but I can’t play like him at all.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?

Some other kind of art that brings in expression. But there is no dimension where I am not a musician.

What can you tell us about your latest release ‘Electric Love’?

It is a beautiful sonic listening experience. It is not like other music – and it won’t be to everyone’s taste, but there will be a small group of people out there who “Get it” and they usually really like it. You will be surprised how you fall into it and surprised that it makes you feel. The awesome thing about it is some singer isn’t telling you what to think. The music lets you feel and think whatever is connecting with you.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?

Just start playing the music you love – play along with it, learn it, practice it, jam it, play the music you love.
