Today, we sat down with Ryan Claud and Raphael De La Rie to talk their start in music, type of music they listened to growing up, and much more! Be sure to check out the music from Ryan Claud and Raphael De La Rie below after the interview!

How did you get your start in music?

RC: My love for music really started at the age of 11 when I started to be a big fan of girl groups. Solid HarmoniE was one of them and through the years I became really good friends with one of the members Elisa Cariera and she made me pursue my dreams of going into music.

RdlR: My love for music started at the age of 10. Toni Braxton’s Un-Break my heart was the first single I ever bought. From the age of 12 I started to develop an interest in writing lyrics and haven’t stopped since. In 2014 I started to create melodies as well.

What type of music did you listen to while growing up?

RC: Mainly pop music produced by Cheiron’s Max Martin, Kristian Lundin and other Swedish pop producers.

RdlR: Just like Ryan, I love Max Martin’s productions. I think he is a genius. He created so many hits for Britney Spears, P!nk, Kelly Clarkson and even Taylor Swift more recently. There’s even a musical that contains his work. Lyrically I love Jason Mraz as well. He’s very creative.

What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?

RC: When we were recording That’s MY Girl with STORM I was finished with recording and went home. After listening to the bounce with the guys we noticed that I had recorded one of the words wrong, and did no record the word anywhere else. Luckily Raphael had recorded the same part as well. We used his recording of the word in my verse. Nobody noticed it cause our tone of  voice and key are quite similar.

RdlR: I have got to agree with Ryan on this one. It’s also quite funny how many of our songs have parts where we sing a lot of oh oh’s It almost seems to be a running gag by now.
