Interview with Peel

Today, we sat down with Peel to discuss inspiration to write music, advice for musicians, and much more!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

It’s so many things that inspire me in my life. But I find that I often tap into emotions or feelings that are attached to specific moments in my life. I know it is an “arty” answer, but it’s very much true; it’s very abstract. And I can be inspired by music, things I have read or seen….so many things.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

I grew up listening to all kinds of music. I loved metal, grunge, chart music, also the classics like The Beatles, Queen, Black Sabbath,, Depeche Mode, Talk Talk…The list is literally endless…I was a total and utter music geek from a very early age.

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

I have admired a bunch of people, but to go as far as calling them heroes…I don’t know..I can’t come up with a name.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?

I think it would have to be something creative. A writer maybe, a producer, working in film…

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?

Do it!!! Do it with your heart and soul. And make it sound like you. Don’t follow trends – make them! Have fun with it, even though it is a serious matter.
