Interview:
Starting from a young age; I was always very curious about sound, and music in particular. I could often hear music in my surroundings – in the cars and beeps and commotion of a busy city, to the lively woods in my backyard. I’ve always felt like I was connected in some way; riding in the backseat of my moms mini van pretending to look out the window like I’m in a music video, to actually shooting my own. Music has always been a part of me, and it’s been itching to get out
My parents were big on stuff like Gavin degraw, Alicia keys, the Beatles and a range of different stuff . I dipped my toes into some heavier stuff as I got older; as well as musical theatre which is funny cause that’s quite the opposite.
Iroh from Avatar The Last Air Bender… sounds silly at first; but I’ve learned more about how to find myself from that cartoon character than I can describe haha. He teaches balance in one’s self; and pulls from all emotions – leaving no stone unturned
I’d be with my dog in a van driving down the PCH. With no destination 🙂
Relief is a culmination of my experiences on this planet – I want to tackle the full spectrum of emotion and sound for this album.. I want people to feel free to feel, if that makes sense?
If I had any advice to anyone who wants to create music?
I’d say don’t be afraid to write absolute garbage, don’t be afraid to take a chance… too many people let fear get in the way of creation. Inspire yourself. Hear something u didn’t intend – catapulting a new idea into shape. Take breaks. And look for new ways to express
yourself every chance u can”
