We had an interview with musician Medusa! Here is the interview:
- What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?
What inspires me the most to write a song is usually the life experience that I’m going through at that time. If nothing exciting were going on in my life then yes I would say my surroundings help a lot, mostly the weather. It sounds funny but the weather affects my mood quite a lot. If it’s nice and sunny outside then I’m in a happy mood therefore I’ll write an upbeat song but if the weather’s moody then I’m moody too and I’ll write a sad/moody song. It’s all about the energy I get from my surroundings.
2. What type of music did you listen to growing up?
I grew up listening to various types of music. From Pop, R&B and Hip-Hop all the way to Classical music and Jazz.
3. Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
Ever since I was a kid I looked up to Christina Aguilera. Not so much as a hero but as a singer that I wanted to become. I always thought that her vocal skills and her ad-libs were seriously out of this world.
4. If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
I’ve asked myself this question many times and every time I come to a conclusion that there’s nothing else that I would ever want to be doing. I am literally in love with Music, as cheesy as that sounds. I would choose music every time.
5. What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?
Don’t be scared to fail. With failure comes experience and with experience comes knowledge. Express how you truly feel in your music. Create music with your heart. If you’re not in love with what you’ve created then don’t even bother putting it out there because people will not love it if you don’t.
