Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?
Laur: Yes, of course but not only. It’s also about feelings, moods… It’s a mix of outside and inside  inspirations.
Charles Why: inspiration can come from many different forms: a book you are reading, a discussion with Friends, a feeling, … Indeed, it could come from the outside or the inside.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
Laur: M’y parents records were mostly rock’n’roll and rhythm’n’blues. Then my very first vinyl singles were KISS, Sparks and French bands like Indochine and Trust. Later as a teenager I was obsessed with Motley Crue and got more into glam, Sunset Strip bands and punk. Then, in the 90s I loved bands like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Faith No More, Jane’s Addiction….
Charles Why: my Step-Dad was really into Jazz and Free-Jazz so as a kid, that was my main source of music. Around 8YO I discovered Kiss and AC/DC then as teen, like Laur, I fell in love with Motley Crue after watching the video  “Too Young to fall in Love”. Around the same time, my Uncle  who was really into Punk, opened another door with with Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, Berurier Noir, Exploited,….
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
Laur: If I had to choose one music hero then I would pick Bowie. He wrote “Heroes” after all haha.
Charles Why: There this French artist that I really looked up to, Charlelie Couture. He is a singer, composer writer, photographer, painter…  Kind of a Renaissance Man.
If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
Laur: I’m not a professional musician but if I weren’t a musician, I ‘m sure I would have another artistic activity, maybe in drawing, photography….
Charles Why: I would probably be doing artwork. I created what we called “Wishing Bone Box” based on cigar-box. It  came from my fascination with Mexican culture, particularly “Dia de Muertos” and the concept of “Vanita”. We used one on the cover of our first EP “Grotesque Radio”.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?
Laur: Just follow your heart and emotions, not the trend!
Charles Why: create and be true to yourself.
