Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?
The music we listen to inspires our sound
For lyrics: experiences, people, feelings, the city, nature
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
It started with The Who, Duran Duran. These are the bands I remember liking when I was a kid. Then I discovered ACDC, Guns and Roses, Metallica and really got into rock. When the Grunge movement exploded, it was a revelation. I was a fan of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Hole but also Faith No more. Later I discovered the UK and American punk movement and got into The Ramones, the Sex Pistols, the Clash and then I became a goth during my later teenage years and I still love The Sisters of Mercy and some of The EBM stuff I listened to, Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb but quickly became a fan of Industrial rock such as Ministry, Tool, Kie Krupps, Ramstein, White and Rob Zombie.
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
I really can’t think of one. There were artists I really liked and thought were super cool and wrote good songs.
If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
Maybe I would get heavily into sport such Wakeboarding, Hiit cardio maybe or just do what I do for a leaving: teach.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?
Be confident, practise and the more you play, the more you will be able to create your own music. There will be songs you might not be happy with but to create good songs, you have to create not so great songs too.
