Interview with EXORCIZPHOBIA

Today, we sat down with the band Exorcizphobia to talk how they got started in music, type of music they listened to growing up and much more! Be sure to check out their music below after the interview!

How did you get your start in music?

Ondra (guitar):  When I was 8 years old I already knew I want to play guitar and then my parents gave me the most beautiful X mass gift ever – acoustic guitar.

Tomas (drums): My uncle Michal gave me drumkit, when I was 10 years old.  Big thanks to him!

Ales (bass guitar): I started at 12. We were bored schoolmates. So we decided to start play guitar.

Tomas (guitar, vocal): I had a musical bug since i was little. But Metallica was probably the reason why I started to play guitar. I was about age thirteen. Exorcizphobia was found when I was fifteen years old and then this crazy and entertaining journey begun.

What type of music did you listen to while growing up?

Ondra:  The Beatles were my favorites about my 14. Then I discovered blues and hard rock Jimmi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath

Tom: Black and death metal

Ales: The same as Ondra – hard rock

Tomas: First important band for me were The Beatles. I could be like eleven years old and I was crazy about them. Not long after I started to skate and it helped me to discover various styles of music. I was in hip hop, in electronic for the while, but then I started to pay more attention about music my dad used to listen. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Ozzy Osbourne and mainly Metallica.

What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?

Tomas: Fun stories? Hard to recall any with amount of alcohol we’ve usually consume during the process… Actually yeah, I remember cute but stupid moment during last session we had… We just woke up with decent hangover after Day One and Ondra can’t find his flip flops. He was pretty consistent in his investigation, so after while he infected others with it, everybody was searching with him. We went through every inch of the studio – nothing… Well, we moved on and start to work on recording again, but mystery about Ondra’s flip flops was still in the air… After couple of hours he realized I have them on my feet. Since morning… Idiots on parade…
