Today, we sat down with Brian Dalton to talk about his start in music, type of music he listened to growing up and much more. Be sure to follow his social media below and check out his music video for the song called The Follower.
here is the interview:
How did you get your start in music?
I got my start in music playing in a cover band in the early 2000’s. Around 7 years ago, I decided to pursue my solo career in music and started working on my first ep titled “Dalton: The Fall”. After it’s release, I took to the internet searching for ways to get my music heard. Through different amazing people like yourself, I was allowed for my voice to be heard and just kind of built from there with each new release.
What type of music did you listen to while growing up?
Growing up I listened to mainly rock music with bands like Metallica, KoRn, Disturbed, and Breaking Benjamin.
What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?
The best times often include when my voice isn’t properly warmed up and I go to hit powerful notes emitting a sound rivaling that of a startled farm animal. There was one time when I was in a band that the lead singer didn’t show up for mixing. So we deleted his vocals and replaced them with the bass player and myself singing in the most horrible voices you’ve ever heard. It was…the best.
What is your latest song or album you can share with us?
The latest song is a stripped version of my song “Love These Scars”. It’s about a very difficult time in my life where I found myself at my lowest and had to pick myself back up. I wrote it in hopes that someone else who might be at that point could here and find strength from it to pick themselves up and keep going. I want people to know that there is always hope and that it’s as a real as you want it to be.
