Interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?
I imagine music as the soundtrack of a movis, sometimes the movie is only in my head, hahahah. For the lyrics, it depends on the moment, sometimes they are metaphors. We like to play with the metaphors.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
A lot, and very mixed. At my grandma’s house, my uncles had many vinyl records. Since they were different ages, I listened to everything from Mina to T. Rex, from Celentano to Black Sabbath. I learned how to use the record player when I was 6. Listening to different kinds of music helps when writing songs—especially for me, since I never had the chance to learn with a teacher.
Is there someone you looked up to as a hero?
When I was a kid, I loved Jimmy Page and Elvis. I used to listen to the solo in Whole Lotta Love a thousand times in a row.
If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?
I work in a pub where we organize gigs. The rest of the band also has other jobs. Unfortunately, in Italy it’s hard to make music your main job.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?
Get together with instruments and play songs from your favorite bands—this helps build your own musical language. Today, everything seems more technical compared to when I was 20. You need to put your heart into it, and keep trying again and again.
