Good journey! Pop culture podcast network and media company GEEKSCAPE has launched the crowdfunding campaign for the first issue of their new fantasy/sci-fi/pro wrestling series PAUL LONDON: HERO OF THE PROPHECY #1! And within one day, has hit $3,000 of its $5,000 goal
To celebrate, Geekscape has revealed the campaign exclusive Photo Variant Cover to issue #1, featuring ex-WWE and Ring of Honor pro wrestler Paul London, as depicted by photographer Georg Kallert and artist Diallo Jackson!
The John Carter of Mars inspired photo cover is a campaign exclusive and was edited by fantasy writer/creator Diallo Jackson (Angela and The Dark). “When I was asked to contribute to the variant cover for this issue, I was immediately excited. I envisioned those classic Gold Key comic book covers with live-action photos, infused with a little dash of John Carter of Mars. Bringing worlds to life is kind of my jam, and this was an absolute blast,” says Jackson.
As series writer/Geekscape founder Jonathan London says: “Diallo is actually working on a fantasy novel of his own and has written and laid out some really cool indie comics. I knew he’d have fun with this. Plus he has a Geekscape Network podcast so he’s family!”
Following real-life professional wrestler Paul London (WWE, Ring of Honor, Lucha Underground) on a fantastical adventure to save an alien world, Paul London: Hero of the Prophecy #1 is a 26-page pro-wrestling/sword & sorcery story written by Jonathan London (Miami Vice, Super Action Man) and based on an idea by the two brothers.
The Kickstarter for PAUL LONDON: HERO OF THE PROPHECY #1 is LIVE at: https://herooftheprophecy.com/
Paul London: Hero of the Prophecy #1 features art by newcomer Marcelo Sanchez with colors by Vittorio Astone (Dark Horse’s Canto series) and letters by Ringo Award nominee Micah Myers (Image, Dark Horse, the Eisner-winning anthology, Puerto Rico Strong). It is produced by Geekscape’s Georg Kallert and edited by Winston Gambro.
