Fields of Jake Releases Cinematic and Expansive Pop-Rock Album All The Rest

Nashville, TN — Pop-rock artist Fields of Jake has released his stunning 8-track project, All The Rest. The recording features soft rock and indie-pop picks, telling a story of rebellious loves, broken homes, wanderlust, and wild child romantic infatuations. With expert production from Jim McGorman (Sabrina Carpenter, Goo Goo Dolls), Fields of Jake’s debut album, All The Rest, is now available on all streaming platforms.

Recorded in two separate sessions between 2022-2024, All The Rest reflects the various indie and folk singer-songwriter textures encompassing Jake Fields’ life, from mellow, sun-drenched guitars to crooning, desperate calls for resonant understanding. “All The Rest was a labor of love,” Fields said. “It represents an eclectic group of songs that I feel excited to jumpstart my career with.” Produced by longtime collaborator Jim McGorman, Fields describes heightened emotions that often exist without words: life-defining losses, cultural fidelity, and unexpected heartaches. The album opens with “Something To Look Forward To,” launching with a twanging guitar lick and swiveling drum beat. Fields immediately pulls listeners into a cinematic space, describing long, hardworking days that underscore his well-traveled spirit while singing praise for “a girl from Hattiesburg.” Previously released singles “Sprinter Van” and “Single Forever” take a lighter approach. As Fields laments his love life, sun-soaked guitar strums and twisting, beachy sounds overtake the record, calling forth The Kinks and the Goo Goo Dolls, respectively. Fields then pivots toward heartbreak with “If Only It Was up to Me,” a howling crooner about a failed relationship, which ponders all the things he’d do differently, set to the backdrop of a lush soundscape. “The song is about the existential anxiety at the start of a relationship that is actually working for once,” he explains. “When you’re waiting for the other ‘shoe to drop’ because that’s all you’ve ever known.” His palette uniquely expands with “Too Many Steps,” a slow ballad with R&B rhythms and an infectious chorus. Fields climbs toward a deafening conclusion as he recounts, “There’s too many steps to heaven.” Every song explores a unique perspective derived from Fields’ life, whether that be his personal experience or those of family members who came before him. Tracks like “Nowhere California” infuse the album with light Latin instrumentation, as Fields details the life of someone struggling to live in the “City of Angels.” The album is rounded out with the hopeful and nostalgic title track, drawing the record to a close in just under 35 minutes. All The Rest was brought to life in the studio at Lucy’s Meat Market in Los Angeles with the help of fellow musicians McGorman (keys and synth), David Levita (guitar), Jon Button (bass), Steve Fekete (guitar), and Marc Slutsky (drums).

Fields of Jake is a Nashville-based artist who got his start when he decided to pause his professional baseball aspirations to pursue a passion for music after buying a $70 guitar from a thrift shop. What began as a hobby quickly evolved into live gigs at iconic venues such as Los Angeles’s Whisky a Go Go, Hotel Cafe, and The Troubadour—ultimately leading to a full-time career in professional music. After falling deeply in love with songwriting and performing, Fields released his first artfully written solo EP, Someday You’ll Be Mine, before releasing his No One Wants To See The Grand Canyon Alone EP under his new moniker, Fields of Jake. His music has been praised by publications such as Live Nation’s Ones to Watch, Atwood Magazine, Melodic.net, Jammerzine, Voxwave Magazine, and more.

Fields of Jake has been building momentum since 2020 by crafting songs with intention while carving his space in the music world. All The Rest balances familial ties and stirring ambitions, set over a sweeping sonic soft-rock score.
